Ladies and Gentlemen, dear Friends,

European Telemetry Conference 2010 in Hamburg! Hamburg??? Why are you leaving Munich, why leaving Bavaria? Why not going back to Garmisch?

This have been the most asked questions about a year ago.

Well, there have been a few reasons to come to Hamburg this year. Moving to Munich, the cooperation with AerospaceTesting was a success; the etc2008 had more participants than the Telemetry Conferences the years before. When we heard that Reed International planed to go back to Hamburg, we had a intensive discussion what we would do with the ETC2010. Several other events have been checked and, off course, the question came up if we should take the risk and have our own conference again.

Finally we decided to go with the Aerospace Testing – we can help them and they help us getting a more attractive event. And we have done a lot to make ETC2010 a very attractive event. Reading our website, flipping through the abstractsbooklet you see that our Chairman, Mr. Günter Müller, had prepared a really appealing workshop and conference program for us. We were happy to welcome many people from around the world, from the southern hemisphere, from Far East, USA, Europe and a lot of countries in between. The only country that was not really following our invitation was – Germany. We had several on site registrations, so the attendance was almost as good as two years ago.

Thanks to our general chairman Günther Müller and our vice-chair Steve Lions the ETC2010 had a remarkably good program – from 8 workshops to over 50 papers presented between Tuesday and Thursday. I am very sure you have been (or would have been) pleased to listen to these presentations.

I also like to thank our members of the board - they helped wherever possible, but special thanks to Mrs. Daniela Knöferl. She made all the work in the background, without her the ETC2010 would not have been what it was.

I thank all attendees for the pleasure meeting them!
